The reason I post this, is for those looking to get into hybrids but really don't have much money to spend. Especially relevant now with our ailing economy.

This was the first hybrid I had (Until I somehow managed to lose it :sad which I used to record my son in his first year. I still enjoy looking at the videos I recorded with it. I remember being pleasantly surprised at how good a quality the video was for a memory card device in that price range. It takes 640x480/30fps video which is still as good as many of the non HD digital cameras on sale today. The video has a nice soft feel to it.

Of course, being an older model, it has its downsides like it is useless in low light for instance and you have to be very still when taking photos but for $49 I think it's a very good price for it's video quality.

It also didn't suffer from the audio sync issues of the later models from Aiptek, at least I didn't notice on the videos I took with it. Also the 3MP still images aren't too terrible either as long as you take account of it's relatively slow performance and shutter lag.
