Actually, I checked the Sony model's specifications and it offers even better than a "stereo" zoom microphone; it offers a Dolby Digital 5.1 channel zoom microphone! (Hence the higher price.)

Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 PLUS has a "dehiss" filter that really helps to remove the HISS from Sanyo VPC-CG6 camcorder audio. I just tried the Magix filter yesterday for the first time. It really helps. It doesn't make it perfect, but it helps a lot.
