In what way? Looks pretty convincing to me! Of course there may well be some minor cosmetic differences to give the impression it *is* a unique model but you can see these are not just cousins, they are siblings if not identical twins! After all even Identical twins are not exactly the same either :G

The screens look pretty identical to me except that the Hitach model has "badges" attached to the screen.

Looks the same to me, if the videos are anything like the sanyo ones i will be more than happy they look better than my old camera.
The sanyo is not avalible in the uk, well i cant find it...so maybe this is our version..

Got the camera today, only tried in low light but the quality looks pretty good to me..
One question tho do i need to convert the files to edit them in my editing software both pinnacle studio ultimate 12 and cyberlink powerdirector wont open the files
They are .mp4 files

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Quicktime from Apple? That should put the necessary codec on your computer to edit the Sanyo files, assuming the Sanyo files are Quicktime .MP4 clips.

I have the Hitachi version, no i havent yet i will try that, i installed the codec off the cd that came with the camera.
The clips will play in windows media play but the editing programs wont open them both programs say they do hd files...

Congrats on ur new h-cam. I like the black look of the Hitachi. The video looks good. I hope to see more video and pictures.

By the way, are the 3 leds only for flash photography or can you use them in low light video also?

I will be using a monopod on the next video to see if it help reduce the shaking.
The front leds can be used in low light for filming, not sure how usefull they would be tho
