Looks exactly like the Sanyo VCP-HD100! Only the color is different and it seems confined to the United Kingdom market:

This might explain why the HD100 doesn't appear on Sanyo's website because it's not a Sanyo Design ie they just slapped their badge on it. Having said that it doesn't appear on Hitachi's website either so I wonder who is the real designer?

Exactly.

This camcorder is being designed and manufactured by another company and then made available to various "major label" companies.

Thanks for the replys, Whats the thoughts on the sanyo if its just a rebranded model, its either this or an AIPTEK but they cost alot in the uk for what they are really
Is the AIPTEK AHD200 anygood ? doesnt seem to have any zoom tho..

There was a whole thread about the Sanyo HD100 here:

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...ighlight=hd100

Of course like many threads here it can quickly get off topic but there are some example video and photos in this thread. Skyhawk21 here has some on vimeo.com

It's not a bad camera by any means from what I have seen. If that is all you can afford then I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

So have a look at any examples in the thread to see if that makes your decision any easier!

hmmm.

now this will make me wonder

if the screen of the menu on theSanyo HD 100 or who ever's camcorder it is. will be different, or thesame of the Aiptek.

now playing around in Target and spinning my memory wheels. sure hel resembles the same Firmware features, andfunctions

Sanyo hd series looks no way the same.

Observe the newer models and you shall see what i am saying...

The flip out screen seems different- might not be the exact same camera or a renamed model.
