i've got a z700 with the firmwareversion 2100. With my cam the EIS does not work vvery well . The other resolutions without EIS are only to be used with a tripod, otherwise the pictures are trembling too much. Is there any improvement with the newer firmware versions?
Is it right, that i have to use the 2302, when i want to keep the macro wideangle trick?
greetings from germany

used all the FW and not 1904. I seen this right away, saying something is just not right.

the EIS or was it the Autofocus at start up.

Electronic image stabilizer, will not improve till you go to 2302. to much wobble, but the wobble is based on your zoomed in FULL. not in wide angled. so yes in FULL ZOOM I noticed this.

The Girls deffently HD720P.

Fishy, I honestly don't think it's fair that you're comparing 60fps videos by uploading to YouTube. YouTube re-transcodes everything down to 30fps (well, 29.97fps) @ ~2000kbps video, so how could you say that it's really 60fps (59.94fps).
If we're going to be uploading primarily for YouTube, then we should just record in 1080p 30fps (or 720p 30fps).

Here's an example of what we should be doing - to check full-playback of 60fps files.

Use VLC or Media Player Classic (with codecs) or QuickTime

VLC
- check Media Info for dropped frames
Media Player Classic
- check Information Bar for current framerate playback
QuickTime
- check Movie Inspector for current framerate playback

See if you can play back this file @ full frames of 60fps

If you have a Xbox 360, it will play it back no problem (PS3 will require a re-mux from .mov to .mp4, but its easy and requires no transcoding).

Now for some comparisons:

dog training - download link - 32mb (re-muxed to .mp4 - PS3 compatible)
panning in a bakery - download link - 22mb (.mov)
dog (now 30fps) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJma2FJm9FA&fmt=22
bakery (now 30fps) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjTv_8APWYo&fmt=22

Tell me what you think about this. I'm a strong advocate for 60fps content, so really showing this on YouTube is doing it a huge disservice. It looks absolutely wonderful when played on PS3/Xbox360 because you can tell the framerate is definitely double.

Lastly, for a new prospectivehybrid cam, this new RCA supposedly will do 1080p @ 60fps:

Other RCA that does 720p @ 60fps:

Wow that would be awesome if the description of this RCA model is true but looking at the price, looks to be a misprint. I'm also a proponent of taking the next step with these budget camcorders, and upping performance to 1080p 60FPS. If this can be confirmed with the RCA model, I'm sold. Currently have an Aiptek GVS, probably will be selling my DXG-595v soon, was good while it lasted, GVS just slightly better.

This may be covered elsewhere, but how do you get the stabilization to turn on in anything greater than the VGA mode? I can't get it to turn on in 720p.

Few other comments: I wish the kept the square shape of the previous model, the GVS does not fit the pouch well. Does the spring that holds up the LCD seem a little weak? Also, why did they dump the Action HD's LED lighting? I bought the GVS since I destroyed my Action HD trying to make an external Mic mount. Can anyone list the major improvments of the GVS?

menu 5 way go up one and choose stabilization on.

the down mouse will go through res settings and when HD1080P it turns off, and stays off so you have to return back to turn on.

what I like and dislike at the main topic here.

screen spring is tight on one, loose on other I know that.

youtube: is just a flash site, no direct or viewablelink, like Vimeo

so what I do is at times place a link to raw footage. I already made a 60 fps.

I also duplicate what i do in youtube to vimeo, and vica-verca. As well I also tend not to post all to onesite etc.

I will not, andrequested 3 HD videos but I only have ONE HD per week, and now I save it for an important one.

so i hearexactly what you're saying.

I think it's time to make a 60 fps one like you're asking and explain is perfect detail. b/c that is what people as k every singledetail.:G
