Hi Fishy,
why is your 1080p movie in YOutube not fullcreen in fullscreen mode ?

Well the format is smaller than the 720p movies Fishy uploaded in Fullscreen Youtube mode...
Hmm. probably because Youtube keeps the
aspect ratio...?

I have a 1080p monitor at 1920x1200 and the 1080p movie is smaller in fullscreen than the 720p movie, but is a bit sharper I would say.
Good colors with the new firmware !
Fishy, in which format did you upload this to
Youtube ? WMV ? ( Cause you rendered it first in your video editing program...)

2503 is pretty good, the most notable change is the bit rate on the files. its been increased on each setting by about 20% making all the video setting sharper. Sure you dont get as much video on a card, but hey they are cheap.
I just flashed my camera now also to the 2503 and now the night mode is
really good in low light conditions.
Now I can use also my camera inside rooms with low light.
Great !
Well, yes, I see, that the video datarate is a bit higher now,
but as it is already night over here, I have to check it tommorow in
sunlight.

By the way, my Dualcore Athlon X2 3800+ PC with Nvidia 6150
onboard graphics seems to be still to slow to play the 1080p
video really smooth.

Especially, when I use Media Player Classic with the QT Alternative codecs.

Videolan 0.99 is much faster, but still skips a few frames in a few second.

So I have to try to overclock my PC now and see, if I can get a faster
framerate.
ALso what helps is to use the Linux Live CD of
www.xbmc.org
XBOX Media Center has a very fast Quicktime player
integrated and it also played the movies of my old AHD200
very fast and smooth. I never got it so smooth my my PC
under Windows yet..
Also the Quicktimeplayer from Apple is not better.. so
XBMC.org rules for playing the Aiptek files on slower PCs.

Regards, Stefan.

have you tried the arcsoft player that comes with it? I thought that software was junk, but one day i decided to try it and it plays the vids better than anything else i have tried. I have a 3800+ with an nvidia 7300gs card that i overclocked by about 30% and it still drops a frame or 2 at 1080. I'm gonna try that xbmc live cd. that sound like it might be cool
Thanks

No,
have not tried this arcsoft player yet.
Will do, if I will find the CD...
I thought, Mediaplayer Classic Cinema was the fastes one, but that is not the case...
I installed K-Lite Codec Pack Full Version, but it did not help..

Well, if you use the XBMC.org Live CD ( not the one for Windows or Linux,
but the Live CD) it plays much faster.

Did you try the new 9.04 Beta1 or still the 8.10 Version ?

Best is to have a systemn with NVidia graphics card.
ATI and Intel graphics still sometimes have some problems.

Also there is a nice new Asus Barebone system out,
that just sells for only 150 Euros over here:

ASUS Pundit P4 P5N9300 which only needs a CPU( for example
a E5200 dualcore which is nicely overclockable) and a memory module.
XBMC can be booted from a cheap USB stick drive!

It has Nvidia 9300 graphics onboard and HDMI output.
I guess I will get this to use it as a MediaCenter PC with
good performance and also game-power or good 3D power.

It is nicely small so it fits also into the living room and can be transported
to other places to show to other friends.

As XBMC.org has now support for NVidia GPU acceleration, I guess
this above system is the best and most cost effective HTPC in this moment.

Any other suggestions, if I want to use XBMC and some 3D applications ?

Well, yes, the link is not working yet. Here it is:

http://sourceforge.net/project/downl...amp;a=18766364

You can also install it to USB stick.

IMO it is the BEST Media Center Software with many great plugins like
Youtube player and apple trailer catalog.
