Hi,

I want to be able to mount an Aiptek camera next to my ear while I am driving. I want the camera to record what I see. I had the following questions:

1. Which model is best for this - I do not care HD or regular as long as the image is stabilized & decent.

2. How do I mount it next to my ear so it records what I see.

3. Has anyone done this, any tips how to turn on automaticall when the vehicle starts & all.

Thanks..

Hi, dc_nova,

First thing I want to ask is. Did you check in your location if it's legal to do such a thing with the motor vehicle laws in your area. I know in Pennsylvania USA. it isn't. But, you can use a mounting within the vehicle "as a dash cam as long as it doesn't restrict your view"

I am from VA & this is when I am driving an emergency response vehicle!

Hopefully this is valid, if not I am going to mount it as an in Dash camera.

Please advise.

Thanks..

Well, since VA's laws are pretty strick. almost as much as ours I'd really check on that. But,as for camera i'd use one with a fixed focus or focus lock, this way the focus hunting is eliminated. I think the only model with stabilization is the GVS.I know the action hd 1080p doesn't have it.

And as for turning it on automatically. you'll have to turnthe camera on yourself.
Hope that helps.

Well I do not want to spend money on a bulletcam & then a recorder. I want a simple all in one type of setup ?

So in general if one would recommend which camera would it be .. & how to mount it on side of head ..

Thanks..
