I was trying to figure out how to attach a light to my GVS without spending $50+.
  1. I bought a small LED light that clips to a hat visor[/*]
  2. I removed the legs from the tripod that comes with the GVS (one screw holds them on)[/*]
  3. I cut a small plastic tab of material and fastened it underneaththe tripod attachment (I used platic for lack of anything better). I'll go to hardware store to get thin narrow aluminum bar).[/*]
  4. Attach the tripod attachment underneath the GVS[/*]
  5. Attach a light or a ext mic. Make a larger bracket to hold a light and an external mic.[/*]
  6. Pivoting head of the tripod attachment makes for easy angle adjustment.[/*]
  7. Make a longer bracketto position the light or ext mic under and closer to the lens.
[/*]
I attached a picture - hope it's OK.

Hi syoung,

Very creative design with the tripod gimbal. I guess the light can be positioned in many directions, if you wanted to.

I think thats a pretty good idea.

With this, depending on how powerful the light youchoose to use youcanlight areas further away than the typical built in leds.

Hi Maxprime. Yes. I was also thinkingone could still use a standard tripod (with legs)to mount the camera with the bracket fastenedbetween the camera and tripod mount.Mount a light or mic in front or laterally.
