does the new firmware fix the sound issues because I have the older firmware and the sound volume is raised. So whenever there is loud sound the audio gets distorted with a lot of clipping.

Does Which Firmware, there are :
  • Firmware 2003[/*]
  • Firmware 2201[/*]
  • Firmware 2302
[/*]
I will retest each firmware, if needed to confirm, only if you post a sample and w theone you have, then we can see if there is realy a issue, because I believe there ;

Are no sound issues to the model but lets see.

My firmware is 2003. The clip shows the clipping. I have other clips that are worse but they are kinda long.

Thank you for the sample.

1. 2003 firmware can be updated to 2201, until 2302 will be released from Aiptek

2. The sound should not be tampered with if you ask me.

A lets call it a hissing or background hiss. it is not the mic, but the actual hardware, no firmware will fix this.

B the Mic gain should not be tampered with, while Aiptek Should have concidered a electronic gain control to lower sound.

I recommend testing out a external mic before concluding you have a sound issue

the sound is not bad nor is the best, I do hear vibrant or over peaking

thecamera has a bigger depth range in vid and is being matched up to the sound- not giving a excuse. just that the feild and sound are off.

2201 may not correct the problem but will Add Missed info that is supposed to be in the camera. 2302 will correct the video while still not adjusting sound

we are the testers not me WE and this is the exact reason they release to the public, ask for feedback through the net a great way of learning, the hard way......

Hmmmm. The external microphone input actually seemed to work reasonably well. Hmmmm. I wish somebody could test with a high quality shotgun microphone.
