Hello folks

i just bought the Z700 some days ago. Browsing the net i finally found this cool site Steve`s Digicams You've been doing a great job ...so much helpfull infos and all..big thanx!

I would like to try out a different firmware for the Z700. The cam was shipped with the same fm like gamer_it.. and reading about his experiences about the firmware 2003 i would also give this 2003 fm a try.
I contacted Aiptek but the friendly lady on the phone could not tell me where i can get this fm.

maybe somebody would be so kind and tell me where i can get firmware for this Z700

Thanx and keep on with this cool group

Hi again fishycomics

i finally got the firmware 2100, 2302 and 2003. Flashing 2100 and 2302 was fine and i could test around with it. Trying to flash the 2003 just ended up in a little error file on the sd like: mp_stg2_size:41943040pcsw_verify_image:fail

so far i could not solve this problem..contacted aiptek for help as well...

maybe somebody knows whats wrong

greetings

hi flo64:
can you upload 2402 firmware so we can try it out too. thank.
also did you try how fish told you. here is the link.
http://forums.steves-digicams.com/fo...mp;forum_id=92
may be you want to try out fish "firmware
link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VGXQEBRU
GVS firmware only.zip
his firmware is working fine to me.

FW upgrade SOP Z700 (V5Z5S):

1) extract the attached rar file
2) save the .bin file in SD card
3) Turn on the DV
4) insert the SD card
5) switch to MODE UI by pressing "mode" key
6) press the joystick-up for 3 seconds and hold it
7) press snapshot key
And then it will start to upgrade FW automatically, and show "Update is OK" while completed. Then restart the DV

How to check FW version:
1) Turn on DV
2) switch to MODE UI by pressing "mode" key
3) press the joystick-down for 3 seconds and hold it
4) press snapshot key

it work fine every time i try it.

give us exact details. maybe the firmware recieved is not for the GVS model. if it is not the update will not load it will just linger there.

I am and love to try it out as well. since our buds keep stuff on the low Lol

Flo. first let me say welcome aboard, since i seen 4 posts. I catch everyone who joins , well most.

I will not test out the new firmware i just wanted it , so others can be the first. sorry but that to me is a lame :Gexcuse

A joke

well i asked the companies and the response

Thank you for your email.

Sorry, We have told you that our product could not update the firmware. If you have updated the firmware, the product will be not in the warranty.

Wish those best of luck who purchase a a used c ar lot, and not a cable tv or radio station

if you're purchasing a cam you are best to have updated software in hand, at hand whenever a new song or show is aired you are updated, and not watchingrepeated info. this is the way the world works . want bettersupport, best shop a better brrand/company

first of all . the reason why you can't update firmware is because of the file name. you have to change it to sd_v5z5 from sd_v5z5_2402. i test it n i got it to work . will see how thing go and come back to post a video.2402 fix the macro infinity trick.that for sure.i will start more work.be back.
