Hi guys,
I'm Alex from Italy, now i'm the happy owner of a Aiptek AHD Z700, the twin sister of Aiptek GVS.
The label under the battery indicate that the model is the same (V5Z5S), all features are same.

It is black, available now on many e-commerce site in Germany.
If you go on aiptek.de you can find a complete list of retailers where you can find it. I enclosed some photos of the camcorder, soon I hope to put some video taken by the camcorder itself.
See you soon...
Alex.

Hi Fishy and thank you for your welcome!

I have published this news because I think there are so many European users who read your forum and look with envy the Aiptek GVS and, when watch their store in Europe, they found a limited, even if valid, Z600.

Find good informations around technology in Europe is difficult.
Many thanks for your posts, so good, who have helped me to make a choice of purchase.

Great news, gamer_it! It just makes me wonder why Aiptek would release the Z600 at all. This makes no sense to me, as they should've released the Z700 same time as the GVS and skipped the Z600. I bet, a year from now when they release the Z800, it's basically going to be the same camera as Z700, only with minor updates.

Ciao Rob!
In this moment, the price of Aiptek z600 is 179,95 euro
the price of z700 is 199 euro
plus 11,99 euro of shipping costs.

I had a great shopping experience on Conrad.de, official Aiptek reseller.
I found there maximum availability, reliability, support and speed.. only inconvenient is that full site and all communications are exclusively in German.

I have a question for Fishy or anyone can help me to clarify a doubt:
Follow Fishy istructions, i checked firmware of my new camcorder. Compared with the GVS, the Z700 is left few months later, so I imagine that the firmware of my camcorder was updated... however, with my great surprise, please look what I found:

Is possible that firmware is so out of date?!?
This thing makes no sense, because Aiptek had adequate time to install the new firmware on the camcorder in Europe, exits at least 3 months later than usa.

Can I update it? How?
Thanks for any contribution to my question!

2302 is the latest and Aiptek will not release.

Quick update:
after contacting aiptek.de they phoned me and, later, provided to send me the new 2100 firmware (the name of the file is sent: sd_v5z5_2100.zip containing the firmware and instructions for installing).
They also asked to make some little videos and photos before and after updating, at maximum resolution.
The lady who called me was really clear and kind, she talked and then written in Italian! Aiptek is great!
Tomorrow I will upgrade my camera and make videos.
If you want I can post some links here.
Greetings to all!
