I've used Sony Vegas 7 for sometime, usually on firewire-imported video from tape-based cameras, and now I have my first solidstate digicam.

The MOV files which are encoded in H.264 by the camera show up lovely, but there is no sound on the timeline. They play with full sound in Apple Quicktime 7 Pro.

My interim solution is to open in Quicktime and Save as an MP4 with "Linear PCM" sound which is okay, but can't be done as a batch, and probably loses me quality.

Is there any codec or tweak I can apply so that Vegas gets the sound in the timeline?

Your advice, gratefully received.
