Fishy, I don't recall seeing those 3 LEDs below the lens of the HD100 which I evaluted a month or two ago. Are you sure this is the same design as the HD100?

On second thoughts, you are probably correct. Sanyo had a different fascia which hid those LEDS a little.

Chinese manufacturers are good at branding using dead corporate images. You wouldn't believe how confusing it is to wander around the electronic bazaars in China. You see just about every dead brand name re-conjured up on new equipment

And a few, like Polaroid, which are already in common use even though the parent is only partly dead...

Looks like this hybrid camera is getting cloned or re-branded a lot. For the european market, the famous old school camera and optics manufacturer, Rollei(known for their medium format twin lens Rolleiflex cameras) also has one up it's sleeve. The Rollei Movieline DV5.

if the cam company went 2.7 inch widescreen screen SOLD

Sanyo did this wit hte HD700

I wasvery pleased with it, the Action HD GVS 3 inch well tosses it out of spec 4:3 ratio it is not. so a lil smaller or biggerwould have not hurt and saved Money

the room was there , and that strap is the Killer

Yeah it's weird that the LCD screen on the low cost hybrids are almost always in 4:3 aspect ratio, when they constantly state that the cameras record in 720p widescreen. I think it's because of the aspect ratio of the picture mode which is always 4:3.

The reasons I returned my HD100 were lack of many of the many setup controls which were in the other Sanyos, the fact that all manual settings are lost when you turn off the camera, and the poor low-light performance.

Oh - and the lack of Sanyo's 'High Sensitivity' mode setting (15p) which can help in extreme low light

Yes considering they place the name on TV's and DVD players etc. now and not just photographic devices!
