Actually when i look above at the pictures. the one i bought at walmart is not the same one pictured above. I will take some pictures and post them. I did not return it yet. It clearly says jazz 178 on it, but does not look like the older one, or the new one pictured above.

On another note i bought this:

looks the same as the original Jazz. just rebranded.

huh? So there is now a third version? If the one you bought really did say Jazz 178 then in my opinion they shouldn't have called it that as it's clearly a completely new camera. After all they changed the file format, the characteristics of the device as well as the design!

still jazzcameras.com also known as another company but if Jazzcameras.com is up why is it just a flash player site with 2008 products LOL

Fishy.. am new to this, however am a Pro video producer currently using Mogulus for a new venture..subscription video casting. Enough of that.. I viewed your JAZZ 178 videos and am highly impressed (especially the Mall ride WOW. Anyway..can I use this exceptional camera as a webcam? If so do you have any suggerstions? thanks and your review of the camera sold me on it..

wow. there are three, floating out there as the 178. and the one'sI saw were not by far any bigger then the other, just a lil fatter.

Its funny thats the exact same body style my HDV178 has. Only the videos are all AVI,
it came with a mini HDMI cable as well as a video cable and it was inside of a nice jewelry style box. Thought I had bought mine in June 2008.
