Hi to all... I'm a fan of this blog, very interesting posts and points of view..
But after a hard search and a bad buy, Iím now asking for the help of the gurus of this market analyzers.

Iím looking for the best hybrid small HD digicam with music/video player and remote control .
Basically a media player with a good HD cam, are there any thing on the market like this??

Thanks for the help

Hi and welcome vasco,

Well the only "guru" of hybrids I know is Fishycomics. It's a bit difficult to give any advice on buying as I(and users on this board) don't know where in the world you're from. Secondly I don't think such a device(portable media player with built-in HD camera) exists...yet. Those that have an internal(or external attachable) camera only records in either 640x480 720x480. Most famous(and leading imo) brand in the portable media player business is Archos, as you might know, but even they don't have such a device as you want. Then there's the cheap chinese media players, which most commonly got a 1.3MP still camera and 320x240 or 640x480 video feature. But they use high compression so you get pretty lousy video imo. Okay so then there's hybrid cameras with music player and video/movie player features. These camera's records "okay" video, but their media player function sucks bigtime imo. Very limited video and audio format compatibility.

For a while Samsung has released several digicams with PMP/MP3 functionality. Newest in line is the Samsung CL5 which can record videoclips in 800x600 30p, which is close to 720p HD resolution. Check it out for yourself:

No problem. That's what's great about this forum.

The hybrid camera you link to is the exact same as The Aiptek Action HD GVS(US)/Aiptek AHD Z700(EU/Asia). Check out fishycomics's Action HD GVS HD review sticky thread. And also check his video clips on vimeo.com or youtube.com. I don't own this hybrid camera myself but previously have had Aiptek hybrid cameras such as the Z600.

thanks guys

VAscom... wwelcome aboard recieved the PM, and answering right here

On the market I agree, at times cannot find a HD hybrid that does a PMP and MP3 wish I knew.

the Z700 / GVS is a portable media player in its orginal format. 1440x1080, 1280x720 858x480 but when viewing you are on a 3 inch screen, that is HD quailty or is it ?

MP3 it is a mp3 player but unsure how to get files to a modified setting that it has.

MP3 is a waste why would you listen to 50 minutes of music, andwhy would you watch 50 minutes of video. I think I preferre 50 minutes offilming. so to use all three I believe the Ahd will do best.
it has all the info you're asking may be called ahd300 or so.

I did buy Aiptek Action HD GVS 1080P camera that is in the video. The video is fuzzy and the stills are very bad quality at 5MP. So I returned it. I only spent two days with it, so mine was a very short experience.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o1kXl_r09c&fmt=22 - you might notice fuzziness. I do, since I know what its suppose to look like and how it looks.

I have bought Sanyo VPC-FH1, waiting for it to arrive. [s] Will let you know if it plays mp3 or not, or if it even has heaphone input, or speakers to listen.[/s]

Please tell us which aiptek, because not just one is on a market.

None of the Sanyo Camcorders are capable of mp3 and only the high end model has a headphone jack anyway.
