Default [Aiptek GVS - AHD Z700] I can't read firmware version.

Hi and thanks for this very useful forum.
I would like to see firmware version of my Aiptek GVS but I can do it. May be, in my opinion, I do something wrong... but what ?
In the official Aiptek documentation, they says :

How to check FW version:
1.Turn on DV
2.switch to MODE by pressing “mode” key
3.press the joystick-down for 3 seconds and hold it
4.press snapshot key

I try but nothing happened
May be I don't understand very well... Which key is Snapshot key (is it Shutter key ?) . May I always joystick-down hold before press this mysterious "Snaphot key".
Thanks for your answers. If you have a video to show how to do this....

Maybe you don't push the "resolution switch" on the joystick?
Here's how I do it (after turning it on of course).

To read the fw it is easy. follwed the instructions, the snapshot (3) button fully pressed in. if it goes back to live feed, you have the joystick off center and need to do aover, hold it a lil more to the left. takes a feel.

will not work the first time, and takes more then a few it will show. avideo wasmade . and may need updating.

Default Thank a lot

Thank you so much Caprice and fishycomics.
In fact I did'nt press fully the snapshot button.
I never used my Aiptek to take still pictures, so I never used this snapshot button like I must did it...
So, everything works now and my firmware version is 2302 (Jan 7 2009).

FW 2302 is the ideal one , it has thefield ofdepth so you do not have to step further back, you up the mouse to macro, andagain back to infiniy, you'll notice that in macro the cam sets further back, andstays in that position, once you up to 2503, 2901 you lose this.
I believe istick with 2302, you can go up/downgrade. your choice enjoy.
over, and over again Aiptek place back what we want, imagine you're at the Grand canyon at the edge your dearest says just step back a lil more...............
