Hey guys, newbie here.

I'm looking at purchasing the HD-50Z off Ebay, looks to me to be a LOT of camera for the money.

Is there any real disadvantages to the HD-8Z (or HD-8tZ)? Are they reliable?

Could it possibly take more memory than 16GB SHDC (say up to 32GB?).

Hi everyone.

Can somebody upload some files directly from SD card from this camera here http://rapidshare.com/index.html *???
Not to Youtube or Vimeo - but copy the files from SD to PC and then upload to http://rapidshare.com/index.html*
Some 1920x1080p *and some 720p60, 720p30 files.
Thanks a lot!!!

Got my HD-50z within 6 days from a Hong Kong seller on Ebay!!

Here is my first test video:

It's a bit jerky, but was smooth as replayed directly through my HD TV. I've uploaded the video using a Mac.

Question about this camera: Is it possible to lock the focus? or does it have manual (step) focus by any chance?

Any other settings that could be locked, such as exposure or iris?
btw, sent you a PM

thanks

Just replied to your PM. :-)

Regarding your questions, I'm not sure if it can do those things but I have found the 'Test Mode' menu (Set the camera to 'Set' then hold down the zoom in toggle and the 'Display' button at the same time). It includes:

FW Version
Defective Pixel test
Sensor Calibration
MShutter Calibration
Iris Calibration
WB Calibration (I don't know what that is..)
AF Calibration
EIS Calibration
Burnin test
Firmware Update
Factory Setting

I'm a bit scared to go into some of those options to research those questions for you lol!

For the record, the firmware version is:

DVH-590-V1.14-1016
Date: 2009-10-14 (14 October 2009)

I've sent an email to Speed (through their website www.speed-jp.net) and asked if they will be releasing newer versions of the firmware.

hello again interfreak, thanks for the PM and for the information provided on the previous post.
Most likely I will be ordering one for me with the information you provided. And yes, more sample videos are always welcome!
