The funny thing to me is that ArcSoft charges $79.99 for you to buy the Media Impression software by itself, but you can buy the Kodak ZxD camcorder for $49.99 at Office Depot which comes with it built in!

Do you have to convert the files first since they're .mov? If so, what program do you use to convert them?

Hey guys, I want to continuously shoot video for 90mins maybe more. The current battery system will not allow that. I was thinking of building a power pack with NiMH C batteries (3.6v) and plug it into the Zi8 power port and secure to the tripod mount. Has anyone tried this or am I asking for trouble. My biggest concern is after charging a fresh set of batteries I find the voltage to sit around 1.5 to 1.6v and levels off to 1.2 to 1.3 volts. Knowing this, plugging the batter pack to my Zi8 may burn the unit.

Iuse a zapp ot recharge system, that is a usb port battery pack 4AA add 1.2x4, or 1.5x4, and that is what I plugg in to my zi8.
I then can record with the battery internally of 60 minutes and the external of another 90 minutes and when they are depleted, the cam goes off, and whatever is left on the ext will stillcharge the unit.

or visit kodak see theyr accessorry for ext batt pack.

I found a video on how to get VirtualDub to open .mov files but, when I go to open the file, all I get are black screens and only the audio. WTH?
