Default This is what I have...

Here are the pictures of the lense I bought while travelling in Hong Kong.
They are primarily made for cell phone camera but works very well with Zi8. The package comes with a metal ring (like a flat washer) and a double face adhesive paper ring the same size of the metal ring. Once you stuck these two pieces on the Zi8, all you have to do now is to mount the lense (back of the lense has a magnet) on to the ring and you're in business. This macro lense can get you closer than 1" to the object.

At the time that I bought this, it is fairly inexpensive at HK$78, which is roughly US$15. The store is located in Apliukai (electronic district) in Kowloon side of Hong Kong.

Default yes, I have seen fake one too...

The easiest way to tell a fake one (usually made from plastic lense) is the price. they are usually way under $10, and as low as $5 too sometime...

and the clamshell packaging is very thin... the one I bought was made by the same company that make lense kit for Kodak. the store where I bought these have Kodak too and about $5 more for the brand name. Store owner showed me their manufacturer's catalog. if kodak is selling them at $15 now, it worth buying!

Default Macro

I took a quick photo of the smallest chip resistor using the macro lense, I didn't bother to focus well but enough for checking if the solder was done properly...

Did you know you can set the zoom in infinity mode. Then set to macro mode, to not be ontop the
subject and or object filming?

For others that did not know, that. You have a w-67 lens, two parts one is for macro, and seperates off the unit. You are able to get closer to your object, with the cam at upto a inch off the object, that you take light away. So what we do, we set up a tripod, zoom in, place on macro. The rest is history.

Something kodak never knew. How powerful is that?

Default another slow mo trial...

I think the jerkiness was due to 30fps original video

Disclaimer: to the animal lovers, no ants was harmed during the filming as there were no borax added to the syrup.

Was commentating for the XLan2011 Games, and all of the interviews we done for Gamestah was with the well tested Kodak Zi8 + Zoom H4n Mic Combo.

The interviews are up here:
http://gamestah.com/files/live-event...011/interviews
And the quality they were recorded at was 1280 x 720 @ 60fps (downsampled to 30fps on conversion).

If your after laughs, I recommend the Pizza one, or the Donut one

Besides missing locking exposure, I love it!
