Battery test Kodak zi8 orginal Green battery

Hd1080P Face detect OFF, Stab OFF Mic midle, and Brightness Lowest Dark Sun

Run time Final result 1 hour 22 minutes 52 seconds

When depletion occurres Files are saved without any warning, not a Icon .

When battery is low there are no warnings not even a Icon of battery levels during a session, only when again at the first 5 secs, or stand by

What are the best settings for the longest battery usage
  • face detect off
  • Stabilization off
  • Brightness turned to minimum (lowest setting)
  • Fully charged battery resting a minimum of 5 minutes between charges or longer.
How can I optimize, or extend my battery life?
Aftermarket products with correct ratings, if it is a spare battery or batterries, external power sources, ac, dc sources

The Kodak Zi8 with all the controls and features used will have the shortest battery time of 50 plus minutes

3.7vdc be the orginal, and 3.6 aftermarket but hey does not matter

I will be happy without using face detect. if I need to film withinga 8 foot range then I will use it, I am sure anyone in the pic it cannot work with more then 1 person LOL. sowhy bother having it displayed. if it gives me 30 more minutes offilm, I'll take that forvacation shots on the road. i I need to use it I will use it.

original Zi8 KLIC-7004 battery: 1 hour and 20 minutes

clone battery (1200 mah it says) : 1 hour and 4 minutes

so these white label batteries lie about their capacity but I'm still happy having a cheap battery that the Zi8 can run on for a while to have with me as a backup battery.
I have fuji NP-50 batt, original specs = 1000 mah, possible white batt is also rated only 1000 mah?

doesn't it say anything on the label of the battery then ? Anyways whatever it says I don't trust the ratings of these white label batteries as they tend to have less capacity than advertised

Bestbuy deal. kodak cam 150 and a free4 gb sdhc card by kodak, that is a excellent price brings the cam back to the 130.00 usc mark

the cam at kodak is 143.95. 20% off

look for the details.

Default finally!

[
was brave enough to up FW to 1.06, zoom in darkening seem a little worst than fw1.01 but at least
I have "remaining time" working fine now...previousely, "remaining time" will show up once and not again until power up

I also notice that 720/60, 720/30 & WVGA has a much wider view than 1080. Low light sensitivity has not change.

I tried to order Sunpack wide angle & tele lens kit (with adapter rings) from amazon but they sold out!

Batt Depot near by has aftermarket np-50 (1100 mah) for about $11. Kodak aftermarket replacement
is about $!0 but only 800 mah. both are listed as interchangeable.

My original battery is jap cell assembled in china, equal or less than 1000 mah, minimum at 950 mah.

edited:scrolling off page pic too large
