Indeed I've contacted Kodak.

I'm just so gutted to get this camera and see these awful vertical scratches. If you're the same fishycomics from YouTube then you'r videos are partly the reason i bought it! XD

Complaints can be made to [email protected]

Well they have 24/7 support, I Am sure tey'll ask you to send in for a repair.

I never had that issue with vertical lines, at low levels, some even said at day time.

I now no longer have issues of igh pitch sound with older firmware. am aware if I need arcsoft TMI. i have to reflash firmware

So maybe your last option is to reflas, kodak says yes to reflashing at instructions, but no when you have the cam in hand, what gives?

there are ways around but you void warranty

[QUOTE=Nuwebber]would you know if there is a way to disable the auto iris feature on the kodak zi8.

This annoying feature is ruining otherwise well-lit videos I am shooting. It is enough for me to scrap the camera.[/QUOTE

Default Zi8 vs ZX3

Fish have you made a complete comparison between the 2. I like the ZX3 because of the underwater qualities. But if the IQ is better on the Zi8 than I would prefer the IQ over the UW capability

the zi8, vs zx3 really is not compitition, its prefrence

deffently improvement due to being the newer model. but both have quirks/ querks

Zx3 fw 1.03 on Amazon.com models has blotchs. while still waitingfor others to confirm of updated firmware loads. I am truely happy with teh zx3. and truely happy with the zi8. and that is ones choice of whattehy're after.

If one asks of which ,We never hear of needs. and that is where yo must draw a line.

Unless you find water in deep space, no need for zx3 . I would still get one of each for spare in case one break down some where along the route. They are so cheap compared to my RCA color video camera and VCR recorder pack that cost me over $2,300 in 1983<--- you young people don't know how lucky you are!

Cheers, old gizzard!

Sorry, last time I checked Water World is just a moive. I'll look at the ZX3 first and see if I like that more. The underwater feature is very appealing to me.
