Default Aiptek A-HD firmware upgrade Unsuccessful

I downloaded firmware vers ion 2.02 and tried to follow the instructions that came in the zip package. They did not work for me.
My current firmware is 1.6
Here is what i did
Copied the fw.bin and tcdam_v5v.bin on to the sd card. I did this using the camera itself. I first formatted the sd card and then placed the file on the sd card.
I then unplugged the camera from the computer.
Swithced it off, took out the sd card, plugged the camera to a wall socket, swithced it on, the camera did not switch on. It was in charging mode.
I had to unplug the camera from the wall socket to switch it on.
Once i swithced the camera on, I put the sd card in and pressed mode, and then record and back button together and nothing happened.
So what am I doing wrong?
Have people upgraded the firmware recently?

the BIN file is named wrong.

A-HD cam may be called
SD_v5v

I suggest having Aiptek correctly telling you the name. reason because the wil back up their mistake. if you crash it.

((hint)) inside battery the model is named that will be the file name.

The filenames are from the package that you have posted Fishy.
This not a package that I got from Aiptek.
WHat should the file names be? Can you give me exact file names so I can rename the files on the sd card and try again.

SD_v5v .... files name name it sd_v5v.bin
the Model number is on the camcorders inside battery door.

I take absolute no responsability .........

It's best to contact the company, and have them..... like i said above.

If you upgrade, you will not be able to down grade. I am happy with 1.6 and the sound is LOUDER, the sound of 2.2 is LOWER

they never, ever will fix the A-HD, and that is SAD.

hope that helps out.

Renamed the file sd_v5v.bin
Switched on the camera, pressed mode and then pressed back and record button together.
Nothing happened!
This is pretty frustrating. Has anyone done this of late?
my Camera model says V5V under the battery.
