Hi grax,

Well if the camera won't turn on with a fully charged battery or through AC, it's most likely malfunctioning. Is this the first time your camera does this or have you experienced this before. Is your camera brand new or have you had it for some time(thinking about valid warranty).

with the info you provide, you did all the things right, and the cam works with uninterrupted power, ac source.

The dc power source is 3.6, 3.7 vdc, and can be raised to 5.0vdc, no more

If no other dc battery is available, one must comprimise, substitute , and try to get power to the port.

Before you do si, a simple question, are you sure the battery is correctly in? The batt wil lsay pos, neg and att should be notched.

are the batt pins bent or making contact, examine closely, real close.

and then I make up a rig, and touch the pins with power.

If no power then the cam if power then the batt.

capaciter, transformer may be shot no fuse.

Defective batteries can have too high internal resistance, i.e. it shows correct voltage, charger says it is full. But when inserted, the voltage drops under heavy load, causing the camera to reset or not turn on. My Jenoptik digicam e.g. refuses to work longer than 1 minute on alkalines OR cheap NiMH cells. Only expensive "Ready2Use" batteries work, because they have lower internal resistance.

My Technaxx C5000 came with a dead Li-ion pack, but the camcorder worked when I removed the battery and connected a 4V DC power supply to its battery compartment prongs. So I saw that the battery was dead (mine didn't hold voltage anyway).
