Default Recording lectures

I need something to video record classroom lectures for the immediate future (As in a week ago).
I need something that has the capability of recording about 8 hours of lecture in one day.

I have figured out that I need a video camera that:
*Uses AA batteries
*Easily allows me to put video on my computer for editing in moviemaker to:
1) burn to dvd.
2)allows me to view on my iphone (mine does not record video, its older).

I would prefer to avoid things like those small dvds and tapes becasue I feel they will add an extra step in getting the video to my computer. I am looking for ease of use.

*I am also looing for something that will have not problems:
1)visually capturing worked out steps of math problems from whiteboard.
2)capturing audio of the steps being worked out.

I plan to sit as close to the front row everyday but there may be times that I am in the back.
What should I be looking for that my ideal camera should have when comparing cameras.
I see a lot of neat stuff at store websites (bestbuy, officemax, walmart).
I have read some reviews at cnet but I really don't see anything that answers my questions.
I have come to realize that not all cameras allow for continous recording of someting like a lecture.
I did go through googling kewords and found on some a forum that someone was using a sanyo xtaci. I googled the camera and figured out that it was an old camera. I don't really know what is equivalent to it today.

I find that I have questions about my notes when studying and need immediate answers or at least need to see how it was explained again so that I can piece things together (math instructors sometimes go fast and don't write out everything).
This is something I desperately need.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I cannot offer any specific camcorder information. However, as a professional leccturer, myself, be sure to clear the filming and recording with the lecturer in advance of taking action.

I've just moved this to the Hybrid section as this is where are very clever video people hang out. Hope you get what you need.

I'd suggest a Kodak Zi8.
