my zi6 is in focus at about 2.5 feet

Thank u so much. In which way the kodak zi6 differs from the zi8 .
1. is the focus range

what are the other things, expecially the ones that makes instead the zi8 better than zi6

3 last questions pls, can u take a picture of the lens of the zi6 zooming on it, I would like to see how big is it .
Whic hid the biggest card that the zi6 can handle ? Does it has a 4gb video limit?
last question is: is it difficoult to hit the rec button ? I mean is it easy instead of hitting record, hitting playback or something else ?

thank you
Marco

i think the only big difference between the zi6 and zi8 is the zi6 maxes out at 720p60 where as the zi8 is 720p60 or 1080p30

these cams have no optical zoom, and i would avoid using digital zoom

32gb is the max card i believe. theres no way around the 4gb limit, period

the button layout is fine. if anything u could tape something over them to avoid hitting them

Another difference could be the image stabilization that the zi8 got.

Regarding the picture on top and the lens of the zi6, I was wondering if the actual lens is the little hole in the center or is all the circle.
I want to mount on the lens a 37mm lens adapter to mount my 37mm lens.
I read about differents mods.
I saw people that just put a ring lens adapter in front of the original zi6 lens, using glue or tape.
I saw also other mods that instead remove the lens completelly and the mount a lens directly in front of the image sensor.
Do you know what is the difference between the 2 modifications (removing the zi6 lens vs mounting an add-on lens in front of the zi6 lens) ?

thank you

ps: I bought a zi6 last night for about 84 dollars.

the stabilization doesnt do much

the vignetting will be insane with a 37mm lens. plus you will not be able to zoom to get past it. what specifically are you trying to mount on it?

you cant change the lens on the zi6

the lens is that tiny hole, but the FOV follwos the contour on the hole as well

Lol I am left handed, and does not bother me,as I adapt very easy...

As for the ZI8 and Zi6 its a pinhole,
thezi8 we can take the front cover off and even the 16 mm diameter section,

the Zi6 i cannot speak for by the looks it differs.

I would not worry about modding, each one of us modds for reasons

I do not have the size lens you have, but I am sure this is a lil bigger i got two for 5.00,

issues you'll have weight vs staying on.

i disassembled the zi6, it was very hard. you have to take it completely apart to get to the lens

here is a youtub, not a fan of silienced people

heshows what you're after, but seems a damaged screen sensor etc..

thezi8 is just a screw no more lol easy I guess vs difficulty.

Thank you guys.
What do you mean for pinhole lens, do you mean that the lens is just a tiny hole, it is NOT a real tiny lens ?
Am I correct ?

I do not understand what does it mean:

"the FOV follwos the contour on the hole as well "

What is FOV ?

Also, I was thinking that if a bigger lens has been mounted on the zi8-zi6 and there are no vignetting, hopefully there will not be vignetting using a 37mm lens.
thank you
