Default My dillema: Speed HD120Z or JVC GZ-HM300

I'm not sure which camcorder will give me better movie quality. I know that DXG A80 gives very good picture (in good light condition). Now I'm thinking about Speed HD-120Z (10mega pix) http://www.speed-jp.net/1/en/product...p?cid=5&id=176
but the price on ebay is close to JVC GZ-HM300 (1.37 mega pix) http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp...Id=171&page=10

what you think?

i think its safe to say that ANY major brand hd camcorder would wipe the floor with the type of cams reviewed here

http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...Conclusion.htm

you also got the sony hdr-cx100 on amazon for $320

Wrong! sorry guys but most major brands buy from cheap manufacturers and simply stick there label on and up the price.

The way to tell is to check the stats ie sensor type/size.

I recently Bought a swissonic MD4 which is also the Alesis Palmtrack if you want to pay 40% extra for the badge.

The HD120Z is as good as camcorders twice the price with well known trade marks.

According to whom? These cheap generic Chinese HD camcorders (Speed, DXG, Digilife, Mitsuba, etc.) all have terrible low light sensitivity, horrible rolling shutter ("jellovision" effect), poor autofocus (very slow and fussy), and bad audio quality (tinny sound, no real stereo separation, lots of background noise).

So far the only low-budget HD camcorders which actually work well are the Kodak Zi8 and Flip Ultra HD. Beware the no-name brands which give the apperance and promise of high performance at a bargain price, but don't deliver!

Hey, just stop discussing! It's more than obvious than HD-120Z produces a picture which is closer to a movie production much more than any brand camcorder!!! Yes, not excellent focus, no manual exposure lock, constant zoom speed, not good audio (mono)... But the picture - oh the picture is more than amazing in good hands!

However it beats my JVC Everio hands down and that was twice the price.
No 400 camcorder is good in low light.
if you want to see the HD120Z in action check my youtube channel at.

And this footage has had the youtube compression treatment.
The dialouge on 'Pete The Cat' was from the camera and with a little EQing in Vegas sounds fine.
