Default Hewlett-Packard V5040u?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...specifications

HP V5040u Digital Camcorder

this cam looks great for me. i want something really compact and would prefer 1080p over 720p. basically a jazz 178 but without corrupt files

so my question is, what is this model based off of? i dont think HP is the true manufacturer of it

These cameras are a dime a dozen. The factory in China just puts on whatever brand name the company wants.

"HP" also has two clones of the infamous "super zoom" camcorder, known most popularly in this forum as the DXG 595V:

HP / Hewlett-Packard V5060h Digital Camcorder

HP / Hewlett-Packard V5560 HD 32MB FLASH CAMCORDER

As I could not find a simular product, the one Private Idaho shows is close but Do not get that particular Model. I do notcare for screen that opens that way, reason hard to hold and shoot video, rather the screen sitting foward it will sit in the back of cam. The Jazz elite series.

Digilife 1100, same cam as Private Idaho shows.

As many manufacturers, as Vwest comments, there are morethen just one compnay that will make, badge etc. the cam. Example:

Ranger, Aiptek.

DXG, Digilife, Ispan, Han-SHing, ISpeed, etc, etc

I wanted to say Mustek, or Panasonic, possably Jvc, or Samsung.

If you decide to purchase, it be very Interesting what thevideo will look like.

Keep in mind Hp, and Dell are not camcorder companies.

I gave one of this small things Hp1080P (fake or real) to my father more than 10 years ago ,but he threw the Box away with manual and the transformer cord to load the Camera. We have been searching the whole house trough and found at least 30 but I don't know which one belongs to the little camcorder, Please help if you have the same , please show the loader so I can identify it and use the camcorder again .Thanks from Pia

Search for the manual and docs on Google, (there is also a file type option, but I just put PDF from memory).

Are you sure it isn't a standard mini or micro usb, they often were? However, you might find the battery is gone with age.

I believe a brand called asv or something had cameras of that shape, maybe globalmedia (probably wrong name) was the original manufacturer. I forget who it was but believe I saw it was. So, one of the other brands may have had it.
