A remote control is also available as an option.

I like the remotes because -- when I'm putting the camcorder on a tripod -- they allow me to start/stop the recording process without moving the camcorder and causing the video to shake.

looks are deceiving, the Mic is mono, I missed it saying External, it is again INTERPOLATED stills. not a 5 meg camera.

229.99 and standard shipping sept 13th hmmm that is around the corner.

and well I wish Ican review, trial, but I know my answer.

no swival screen , that means no 3.0 inch screen its diagnal 3 inch, not 16.9 3 ich. that be 2.7 inch

I think the built-in microphone is *mono,* but the external microphone input supports *stereo* microphone recording.

At least, that's the impression I get from reading the specifications.

I don't get the impression that the screen really flips; that one photo is a bit confusing because it does convey that impression.

That's one disadvantage because if you want to video yourself, you can't flip the screen around to see yourself.

On the other hand, I suppose that would be one less thing that could get broken over time.

I jumped to fast, and then found the link, and pc mags pics. they show the cam on the side, and pic taken as a panaramic shot lol. I am thinking to order one, sept 13-16th by Kodak , Amazon the 6th. hmmmm

It is not like the Samsung Hmx so then this may work. bettrer. built in editing Lol that is great, I like that better then paused video. lol

So in order the widest angle cam in 1080P

1.PT 44mm
2. PS 48mm
3. Zi8 61mm

the Widest in 720p
1.PT 36mm
2.PS 36mm
3.zi8 46mm

looks like not a big difference, the Play sport and touch are identical, and I am sure the EIS will crop hd1080P, while in 720p it says it is effected in EIS.

5.3 meg INTERPOLATED still

1 PT 33mm
2 PS 26mm
3 Zi8 42mm

you get just a lil more umph wit the Playtouch, I will have to slep on this 229.00 less 20.00 and free ship, no tax, 110. 2 days at door step. sounds very tempting, sell a cam to gain some add'l savings, and then I have a collection completed.

this is what Kodak wanted to set out with three excellent Models:
a exicutuve , a sport, a eligant, and they completed the collection

no longer will they fix the Zi8 fw 1.06 nov 2009 1 year from Aug
no change from march 2010 since immediate fw release.

these cams are a great bargain, the Playsport, the zi8 till the Playtouch drops its a decision to be the first or Holidays sale. Paitience, and time will tell.

The back looks very nice indeed. Only one physical button and the rest happens on the capacitive touchscreen.

LOL! Fishy first you kinda dislike it and then you want one. Kodak please send Fishycomics a Zi10 Playtouch to review so he(actually all of us who r interested) can decide wether to purchase one:-)

Yes, the major change with this model is the TOUCH SCREEN.

No doubt TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS are a trend in the industry based on the success of APPLE's iPhone and iPod Touch and iPad devices.
