OK, CES 2015. Sony.announced a 4kp30 camcorder below $1000. Panasonic announced two 4k camcorders below $1000, but am unsure what the frame rate is? One is a dual camera that can shoot picture in picture from a camera on the view finder. If steves does not have it, look at the old camcorderinfo news.

There us now a modular phone platform, where you can upgrade components, like the camera, potentially allowing people to manufacture or put together higher quality shooting gear, even camcorders.

The biggest announcement is that ambarella has a new 4k p 60 h264 chip set for action cameras and drones, including 4kp30 h,265 recording.

Another announcement, is last years LG UB85 (I think) and other with black filter is a pretty cool screen, and Sony trilluminous screens (but now we are getting expensive). This year quantum dot screens from Sony, LG, and Samsung are going to be colorful. TCL 9500 series has quantum dots, but not as much color gamut (and maybe not so bright, only seen the 80inch+, but probably cheap.

This year bluray 4k is coming with wider color gamut support (and presumably better HDMI).

Whahoo, my thread after a very long time and many posts, has over 11,000 views, thousand or more than last time without an update. Usually the ibots only scan when I post an update But my other thread, elsewhere, has over 19 thousand views in a few days without even trying, go figure.
