Sorry guys and gals. but this section has become more an archive of information. Many members abandoned and jumped ship. while just a few has stayed behind.

I hoe all who join in can at least share a topic, on that note lets get this forum started!

Who me, we, what's that, my shadow.

Still waiting for more credible 4kp50/60 cameras. The Sony AX100 seems to be a great camera from memory in every way except the paltry 60 Mb/s 4k data rate and 30 fps top 4k frame rate. This just puts it ahead of Panasonic's 50mb/s 4k action camera, and some high end smart phones. So that price should be closer to $800. I suspect both use ambarella technology. The Panasonic lumix fz1000 digital camera also seems to get good press, limping along at 4kp30 but at 100mb/s. The new pro video HC-X1000 Panasonic is much more expensive and 150mb/s compression. However, 200-300mb/s with 10bit+ 4:2:2 would have been better in 4kp50/60 mode. re-edited.

Anyway, new photo show around 2 weeks time, so hopefully we will see a new cameras and charbox reviewing them again. Is he still registered here?

OK, I've got that wrong. I read that the HC-X1000 camera had 150mb/s intra somewhere and just dropped it there, but goimg to read the spec to find out if it might be the h265 codec by some twist (making 150mb/s intra about as nice as 150mb/s inter compression) I saw that it is actually 150mb/s inter after all, making it half descent, but double the price. If it was only 10 bit+ 4:2:2 300mb/s with a one inch chip, it would be a resent camera to go along side the future black magic cameras. If they sold it to me for $1500-1000, I'd be interested, but at $3,499, I'll wait and see what others are coming.
