Hi - another newbie. Just bought myself an Aosta DV310 aka Hanshing DV330a. On Ebay, surprisingly good deal for a specimen with a little manufacturing fault.

I may post a review on it when I've had more time to play, but first impressions count don't they?

1) common fault with this type seems to be that the LCD screen doesn't stay in vertical position. So it hangs a bit. Nothing terrible, just slightly annoying.

2) There appears to be an audio synch problem. Can of course be corrected with Virtualdub, but...

3) Especially in 320x240, the mp4 compression appears rather blocky.

Apart from these drawbacks - looks like a great little camera, which can do everything my old analog Sony camcorder and HP318 can, and more, in a much smaller format... Amazing these things. Have to get a sd card before I can really play with it though!

Greetings!

Hi to all,

A newbie on this forum, but I've been using my Aiptek Pocket Dv5300 for almost two years. I just have a question, can I upgrade the firmware of my Aiptek Pocket DV5300? Because I want to further enhance the quality of capturing images indoors with less lighting.

Thanks!

drayton Welcome aboard, what hybri. I also owned this one when it first came out, 2 years already ? thought it was more or less.

anyway is there a firmware, and how to check what firmware is on there?

I do not know forsure how to locate the correct buttons, so far

the Aiptek MPVR, IS-DV series are the readable ones.

MIXing other firmware isdangerous, to the hybrids it'll crash and burn thecamera.

thought I add that in..

I'll re submit a letter t oAiptek, but best bet is to directly call them and get it from them , ifyou do get it here to us thank you
