Here's the cameras I've added to the Hybrid List lately:

Vivitar
DVR-530
DVR-550

Genius G-Shot
DV815Z
DV1210
DV1112
DV1110
DV611
DV610
DV601
DV600

Sanyo Xacti E1

Jazz
DV165

Vivitar
DVR-530
DVR-550

Genius G-Shot
DV815Z
DV1210
DV1112
DV1110
DV600
DV601
DV610
DV611

Aiptek
DV Z300HD / GO-HD

Mustek
DV520T

Toshiba
Camileo
(A shameless Digilife DDV-760 rebrand. After putting out the substantial Gigashot V10, what's Toshiba doing selling a Digilife camera? Testing the waters for a sd-based hybrid made by them? Or are the second-tier products so good Toshiba feels comfortable sellling them?)

The Aiptek DV Z300HD seems to be the European version of the GO-HD, but with MP3, optional remote lens head, and optional waterproof housing. Corrections please?

It does seem like the hybrid format is establishing itself as a "legitimate" type of camera, and the reviewers are commonly commenting that the cheaper ones do indeed have redeeming values.

New Digilife Models

The Digilife global website is showing 4(?) new models. From the mistakes in model numbers (different #'s for same camera) and TBD's in specs, they appear to still be in development.

DDV-5120B

DDV-A7000

DDV-7300

DDV-7100HD

Thanks for the updates, Old HACer. I've added them to the Hybrid List.

Digilife poses a problem because unlike the other hybrid manufacturers, they put up web pages for cameras that often never show up in the market. I don't think the Internet is a place for their designers to do their thinking. It's hard enough to keep track of what's what without that sillyness. The 510 and 520 were first posted almost 2 years ago. Where are they? None of these latest "artist's conception" cameras specify they have MP3. How likely is that?

I notice none of these cameras state they use the H.264 codec. The A7000 has two pages, with one stating it uses an NP-60, while the other specifies 2-AA's. The 5300 says it uses an NP-60, but I highly doubt it. Should it ever become a reality, it is quite a large camera by hybrid standards. It's been on the Digilife USA site for about a year now,

Thanks, Old HACer. I've added them to the list. I noticed I never added the HD2, so it's in there now.

Gee, the price of the CG65 on eBay is certainly tempting me.

Ispan is showing 2 new models- the DDV-515 and the DDV-560. The 515 is interesting because it comes with a choice of two telescopes! The 560 appears to be an upgrade of the 520 - 6MP CCD, 2.5" LCD, 10X internal optical zoom, and NP-120 battery.

BTW, the 520 is marked as *Available Now*, if that means anything.

Thanks Old HACer. I noticed this thing a few days ago also. I'm not sure I should add it to the list, since I'm suspicious it's just Digilife thinking in print. If it ever shows up, it suggests the 520 or 515 has provision for mounting external lenses. Which would be a good thing. I don't see much evidence the 510 or 520 are really on the market.
