The DXG international site is showing two models, the DVH-595 and the DVH-566

Both are HD (720p), H264, 5MP CMOS cameras. The 595 has a 5X optical zoom while the 566 has no optical zoom.

If these cameras make it to production and worldwide distribution, they might provide a little competition for Aiptek HDs.

Talked to Ispan, and the DDV-993 is available, but the HDV-820 is still in development, unfortunately.

We used to check a site called www.wimi.com.tw for info on Digilife cameras. That site turned into a "dollar store" site.

http://www.wimitw.com/english.html seems to be the new location for the wimi Digilife info. Whatever "wimi" is.

Thanks.

Spoke to Ispan again, and even the 993 is now January release, but I don't know if they were implying in general or Australia (looks like no Christmas camera for me). Irritating, as I am also evaluating it for other use.

The Ispan site, and various other Digilife sites have been notorious for unreliable information. I've learned not to get my hopes up about any of their projected models or availability dates.

I can appreciate why in this case. Supply delays of various key components can cause delays, let alone other business issues. In this case, I suspect that it might have something to do with the codec chip, and I further suspect this has been the case with an few manufacturers.

So far I have been caught out in delays in the release of DirectX 10 cards, motherboards, Display tech, 8Mp SHD displays, PDA mobile phone, game consoles, cameras etc in recent years. All stuff that was supposed to come out at various times, but hit delays sometimes running into years. I know you are meaning that various companies are just not the best for getting things out, but there seems to be an lot of this sort of problem across the consumer electronic industry in the last 5-7 years, and of course I am getting really desperate to upgrade my equipment to something good.

SVP HDDV 9000 "... COMUNG SOON"

This appears to be a Digilife DDV-7300 clone.

What's the specification, does it do more than 30fps.

It goes in the Hybrid List as a Digilife DDV-7300 clone. If NOW/SVP disagrees, they're welcome to let me know.
