New Sanyo HD1010.

http://www.*********/content/Sanyo-A...rder-35201.htm

Not much detail, face tracking, 300fps slow mo, 1920*1080, no details on the more useful stuff on the links.

I must agree with you about the amount of cameras out there. Could I suggest, unless there is something important (like quality on the level of minidv or pro dvcpro50) or unusual about it, a sub HD camera it is not worth listing it nowadays. Most HD models will give SD quality and more with HD down converted. Even 720p30 cameras are not so worth it, as 1080i cameras give better 720p60 modes. 6mb/s of more h264 would be better for 720p30 than what we have been seeing. I basically have given up interest on everything apart from 720p60 as unrealistic.

New Aiptek down the bottom.

OK, have found a thread on the Sanyo, and it looks like they have finally improved their h264 compression (or is it stills?). If they can fix that chromatic lens things I spotted, and latitude it will finally be what the hd1000 could be.

Unfortunately the low light lux is 9lux (3 in special modes) my max lux is 5lux. The new 14mb/s is only available on 1820&1080i mode, why oh why do they do these things. 1080p30 mode and 720p60 mode (no 50p and 25p compression friendly modes listed) are 12mb/s, not 14mb/s. Quiet frankly I would prefer 16mb/s at least, preferably 18mb/s, so 12 mb/s is a disappointment.

Compare it to the new Samsung 1080 camera. If it can outdo that in every mode, it would be reasonable in a good way.

Is the new image compression quality listed here for video or stills?:

Wayne12, here's hope for your speedy return to health.

I can see the reasoning to include only the more innovative new hybrids. But I think there are people who are not looking for the best of the hybrids. For instance, I used the list to research what sort of hybrid to buy for our young daughter. I also suspect that the people most interested in the fancier cameras are the ones most likely to take part in the discussion.

A link to a list of manufacturers or vendors sites seems like a good idea. Any takers out there?

I also see you've spotted some more new cameras, thereby creating more work for me:-).

Well, I actually saved you the work of looking for them .

My through with the hybrids was not elitist so much, but that you can get a HD hybrid so cheap compared to a SD/sub-SD one, people might as well go for the HD one and get a better picture, unless there is something special about the SD one.

Thanks for your wishes, it's been ongoing.

New 720p hybrid from Megxon. It's called the Megxon V5600HD and there's nothing to get exited about. Just another one in the line and I think It's replacing the V5200HD.

Added:

Digilife DDV-980
Probably the same as the DDV-V3HD. However, the specs don't match. Despite this probably being just an inability by Ispan and/or Digilife to post accurate specs, I have to enter it as a separate model. I do like the front-mounted video trigger on these cameras. This allows a more stable grip than trying to hold them with one hand while using one's thumb to operate the buttons.

Kodak Zi6
I'm not sure it qualifies to be listed, but I will include it anyway.
