SPEED DX-5 should be similar ofiSpan DDV-910/Digilife DDV-M1/Orite DV3625P.

SPEED DX-5 is obviously an alias of "Z-Cyber Digi-X".

Check the pic below...

If u understand german, perhaps this link useful

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=15545

if u dont, then go to its official link

http://www.z-cyber.net/Products/Digi-X.htm

Both product areactually aliasin specs and physical model... so I assume they both are same. unfortunately no pic nor video sample for Digi-X yet.. BUT!! Z-Cyber has the older model of their camcorder "V-Go" and it has samples both pic and video...

and since the DIGI-X is newer... i assume the sample would be better than V-Go's... note that V-Go's VGA video is only 15 fps (notice the CHIP awards in the sample?) and the JPEG sample is using interpolation, so I suggest you judge it by resize it in its native 2048x1536 3.3 megapixels

go to this link to see V-Go's samples (also V-Go Official link)

http://www.z-cyber.net/Products/V-Go.htm

================================================== =============
(UPDATE)
Here's a pdf file of Digi-X User Manual in English... click to view/download

http://www.apromatec.de:80/downloads/Digi_x/Digi_x.pdf

note that in this user manual there's no "Digi-X" word!! means there's possiblity that DX-5 also share the same user manual... when I read it, the movie is actually AVI (not ASF) recorded in a very famous MP4 codec XviD and this might be one of the best recording quality...

just read the manual and u may find many capabilities of this gadget!!
================================================== =============

btw Im new in this forum.. Im from Indonesia and now interested in MP4 Camcorders... strangely enoughboth SPEED DX-5 and Z-Cyber Digi-X is available here in Indonesia... since I thought that DX-5 is for asian market and Digi-X is european.... and oh,a little about me in photography..... I already has a Traditional Canon EOS1000 SLR Camera and a Fujifilm Finepix S7000 Digital Camera...

anybody know Funtwist D-Clip or have its products?

http://www.funtwist.com

they have quite range of MP3, some Digital Cameras, and some Camcorders.... I need to compare its camcorderwith SPEED DX-5

PS. if you have around $600 budget, perhaps Sony Cybershot DSC-M2 may become a choice! I've seen the VGA Video and the pic quality both are marvelous! minus the flexibility of MP3 player since the MP3 audios are only for Slideshow BGMs! Load $200 more budget and get SAMSUNG! Their MP4 use H.264 Codec which obviously the current best MP4 codec.

Hi

Did anyone still active in this thread? or perhaps you've changed topic already?

I've tested the SPEED DX-5 but not yet buy it. This is my impression. The MPEG4 Video is great.. the internal 32 Mb can hold 2.5 minutes of Fine VGA (640x480) movie mode in XviD codec. I calculated it on 256mb and the result is about 20 minutes.and yes it is 30 fps...

====================================

SPEED DX-5 XviD bitrate description:

Fine (VGA 640x480) -1.8 Mbps

Normal (VGA 640x480) - 1Mbps

Basic (QVGA 320x240) - 500 Mbps (I assume as I skip this part)
====================================
The picture quality is decent though (indoor light is too red-brownish yellow)... not bad for this kind of gadget... (perhaps it's the same as you can see in the "21hifi" site that 'no_on' provided in his(her?) first post in this thread)

I'm sorry for no samples as I just try it and unfortunately the shopkeeper isnt allowed to transfer the files into a PC... So what I view is what was came out from its 2.5" LCD.. which is (perhaps) only 180 degreerotable.. and oh the on/off system is clever, just by open and close back the LCD in its place..

Control is great.. in record mode you can capture movies and pictures just by pressing each other button... menu button etc. are well placed... sometimes just a little slow... the only great loss is that it was too user friendly so u cant skip the confirmation and so-on and so-on....

The manual is having a different layout with the digi-x though the content (and the sentences) are greatly similar... however, the included manual was just a simple quick user guide as there many languages supported in the manual.
