I bought a Hitachi Woo DZ MV780 mini DVD camcorder.

I would much prefer a Exilim p505 or other similar camera with swivel display but alas they do not have microphones and I was too scared to open one up. I may experiment on my Exilim.

The olympus Camediac-770uz/movie seems to have too many issues.

Seems to me that if you plugged a mic into the a/v-in port on these cameras, you might be able to record sound (but it's not an NSTC/PAL signal), but not with video at the same time.

Ah...I have looked on the Nisis page and it does not mention the microphone. Perhaps, as you say, even if it is there (I believe it is) then it is only there for the voice recorder.

I have gone and purchased the Casio Exilim p505 too. It is so small and cool. I want to attach a microphone to it, but I can't even open the case!

I will ask on the Casio forum.

The Woo did not work too well because I can't seem to convert it to flash video without the audio and video from becoming out of sync.
