Welcome sinclair63

Your Dv6800 firmware of the camera is 2302, the Firmware that is the orginal is 1501 the upgrade is 1709

If your camera is 2302.

and you load 1700 seriesin there and it does not work correctly what firmware will be the default be1501 series? No 2302 series. so youhave top options if you decide to test out

load 1501 load 1707, but you do not have theorginal 2302 and then you'll be returning your camera?

Do you understand.

A member was advised not to fool around with Firmware and found outthat now they got to return their camera

Best advise I can give is to call aiptek and get the best updated version then pass it on .

latest software release will be emailed to me again and there is no better upgrade than the 1700 series. if you need to upgrade or downgrade do not bother trying to ask me better call aiptek. why? you are hurting others by not exspressing your thoughts and troubles to aiptek

the best camera out on the market is the 1701 series and any other firmware or aiptek pvr is going to have an issue like it or not.

no release till 2007 on a pvr series I do appologise for that and hope aiptek checks in.

Step One have camera at hand, turn on camera and

1. hit the "MODE" button to display the features camera and go to "PLAYBACK" you must have playback displayed

2. hold the center "play" button on the screen, and the "MENUE button, , Press both of them at the same time, do not let go.. within 3-5 secs the words will display

My camera shows

FW 1203 upgraded to F/W 1707

HW 00upgraded to HW 00

Rei . you updated your dv8800 or PVR? now please go and tell RGVCAM exactly what camcorder you have and why? you attemted to dsmething that may have ruined your 8800 or PVr , the reason I say this is b/c you do not have

1 a default firmware incase something happens to the camera

2 you could have not damaged but have a conflict to the camera

I would try this as soon as i can get in contact with aiptek for the default first

then at least i would have a backup for the dv8800

Now I wonder if I do this to the IS-DV will it help out or currupt it. but I would first get the defaul tfirmware

Happy it worked out but what a chance you taken
