Greatest hybrid of all time.

And here's a video sample:

Only downside is the price (!)

it a home movie camcorder. with a hard drive isn't it? micro hard drive., they came out with other everio's amd does not look anything like that.

I do believe the hybrid must consist of a mp3 voice pmp (option) webcam

and Jvc not yet.

jvc has a nce economy home camcorder starting at 299 called the jvc-gr d350 32 optical zoom no light but the next step model has the light and remote and slow for 369 so do not know if it has a ccd lens or stils buyt why spend so much money on such an expensive item without extras

I thought the only thing that made a hybrid a hybrid was the ability to shoot stills as well as video, also that it shares this type of pocket-size design.

I guess it's just not a hybrid without MP3 support tho...

This camera has been around for about a year, and there are similar but more expensive versions, as listed in the Hybrid List. I consider it a hybrid because it can take stills or video, and has the mini camcorder layout. Besides the hard drive, it will also record to two types of memory cards. There may be some confusion because it is produced in two body styles, the other being the MC-200. The MC-500 is a 5.0MP, ccd version using three sensors.

I've handled an MC-100, and although I'm sure it's a fine camera, it had a surprisingly cheap look and feel to it.

Well, under $200 would cancel out the Digilife DV 1000 and the 520. If only Digilife could partner with Sanyo. Then the planets would align and peace and joy would spread throughout the land....and they would have a type of monopoly.
