Can anyone explain thediscrepancies on these 2 sites that list theddv 1000, are they the same camera?:-?

1.
http://www.electronics.globalsources...1000726861.htm

2. http://www.digilifeglobal.com/ddv-1000.htm

notably the video resolution and digital zoom?

I also have notices that theIspan 920 which is supposed to be the same as theddv 1000 has different specs too namely:

1. The night mode(no mention of this on dv1000 specs).

2. The movie file format -asf on theddv 1000 and avi on the 920

3. 10 megapixon the ddv 1000, 11 megapix on the 920

4. 5mpccd on theddv 1000 but 5.36mpccd on the 920

5.wav sound on theddv 1000 and mpeg1 layer 2 on the 920

6. memory card on theddv 1000 is expandableup to1gb,on the 920 it says itsup to 2gb

there is also no mention of things like 5 continuous shots and taking pictures while you shoot movieson the ddvspecs but they are on the 920s specs.

Can anyone who has either camera confirm or deny these specs andweather they are the same camera or not. So far on this evidence theIspan 920appears to be a slightly better variation on the same camera. which if true, is just as well asI have just ordered one from an ebay seller.

I own a DDV 1000 and -

Zoom is 5X for video recording(stabilization off), 8X for pictures.

1. Has a Night Mode for pictures only.

2. Video is AVI - DIVX.

3. Maximum interpolated resolution is 11 MP.

4. May be listing effective resolution, not total resolution.

5. Are you looking at Voice or audio track of Video?

6. Don't have 2GB card to test. If it works on 920, I'll buy one.

The DDV-1000 can take pictures while recording video - pictures are Low resolution. I don't know about the 5 continuous shots feature, will lookfor it when I get home tonight.

I think Ispan definately publishes better specs :-)

The DDV-920 CAMERA menu options include from the top down:
Resolution
Two in One
Photo Frame
Flash
Night Mode
Selftimer
Sharpness
White Balance
Multi-snap
Backlight
Date Printing
Exit

FYI, the multi-snap sucks. It takes 5 pictures in a row, but the delay between each picture is still as long as it woudl be if you were just pushing the shutter button one after another.

The DDV-1000 has the same Camera menu.

I wouldn't advise using Multi-Snap for sports action shots, unless the sport is snail racing.
