Hi, i'm curious if anyone has any experience with this (hybrid?) cam.. the SVP DV-12P as seen here:

my interest in it is that it uses regular AA batteries, can record video at 640x480 @ 30fps, and doesn't use MPEG-4 ... it uses Motion-JPEG instead, which probably translates into better image quality, at the expense of more storage.. which is a fair tradeoff to me.

I haven't found *any* reviews of this product on the internet, so I'm unsure of it's quality... all I know is that I don't want to use MPEG-4.... maybe there would be something better out there for me besides this cam? I don't know...

Welcome aboard I am sure there will be some responds shortely but I have no expeirience on this one looks a lil bulky to me but , yes I would defently purchase for the reasons of what you mentioned
