I think that Aiptek should add a proper autofocusing lens. This will go some way to creating better pinsharp images.

the Fixed lens is a sensor and it is not like a digital camera some have the room for this . but this is how they cut costs

machro is a solution but if you read the instructions a true machro is at 1 inch not 26 inchs closest to the object.

The T300 looks like it is the same as the T100/IS-DV2 so I imagine the LED lights will be just as useless.

Anyway this new MPVR on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...320623?ie=UTF8

which seems to be the PocketDV Z100 on Aipteks Tawain site:

http://www.aiptek.com.tw/english/product/dv/dvz100.htm

Has just answered my question above about autofocus as they both mention

3x optical auto focus !

So it seems the two things I wanted on these devices has been answered. Sadly the LED video light was a disaster, lets hope the autofocus isn't although to be fair I can't see much that could be wrong, as it either works or doesn't unlike the LED lights which work but are of no use.

Hmm I noticed Target is listed on amazon.com as an alternative so if I haven't got a camcorder by then I may still pick one up. Interesting times...

I know this new MPVR was being discussed but it was the 3x zoom that was being discussed. I did not know it had auto focus as well.

Since you had the z100 pro. Did the LED video light have the same problem as the IS-DV2 or did the sensor pick it up better?

Do yourself a favor and check out the ...

Vivitar DVR-530 Digital Camcorder 4X Digital Zoom CMOS 2.5" 230K LTPS LCD

For about the same price as the Aiptek, IMO,this Vivatar isa much better camera. Rechargable battery, and an SD card, may make this a better deal. Picture quality iis quite good. I wish I could post a sample, but the camera belongs to my son. Perhaps, I'll get him to upload a video. or maybe someone else has a sample.

Bonus...Newegg is an awesome Online retailer

Anyway, these are just my thoughts, but in todays Sunday paper, Target has a flyer for the above mentionedAiptek ISDV2 for a ridiculous low price of $88. So one can't go wrong for that price, it's a great deal, but I'll still pay the little extra for the Vivatar.
