I noticed in my 3 nearest Target stores that they haven't had any MPVR in stock lately even though they have a display model. Has anyone else noticed this where they are? Also they seem to have stopped selling the original IS-DV as well.

They only seem to have the new IS-DV2 in stock as well as a DXG model. I wonder if this is because they are about to stock the replacement for the MPVR with the 3x optical zoom? This is one of the reasons I haven't gone and bought an MPVR yet since being this close to the end of July I know what will happen. The moment I do, the next day they'll have the new MPVR in stock!

I noticed today that the IS-DV2 was back at its usual $119 price. I am beginning to wonder if they mislabelled it or it was just on sale because it was a new Target that had only been opened a few days. No new Aiptek models thought

Thanks for your e-mail regarding our policy on price adjustments, specifically
regarding your Aiptek IS DV2 camera.

Target is a trend retailer that wants to provide the latest merchandise at the
lowest possible price. We’re able to make adjustments on sale merchandise if
we advertise a lower price either the same week or the week following your
Target purchase.

In order to receive this service, please take your original Target sales receipt
to your local Target store for an adjustment to reflect the new Target price.
We’re not able to make adjustments on clearance merchandise.

Also, I'm not able to provide you with any information on the Aiptek Zoom DV6
you mentioned. I'm not sure if we'll be selling this unit in the future.

In addition, we charge a 15 percent restocking fee on any opened camcorders,
digital cameras, or portable DVD players. This limits the return of items that
are often bought to use for a special occasion and then returned, and helps us
keep prices low.

Great products. Great value. And a great shopping experienceâ€"every time you
visit our stores. That’s what Target is all about. Your feedback is a big help
to us, and I'll make sure to share your comments with our executives. Please let
us know if we can be of any help in the future!

Thanks for shopping with us. I hope we'll see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Donn

So that's why they charge a restocking fee. I guess there are always people who will abuse the system.

I try to do a good bit of research first as I don't like returning items if I can help it. If I return items too many times I feel I am abusing the system myself then.

Of course there is nothing like playing with a device for real and often its only then that you realise you are unhappy with it.
