I forgot that my photo website can show the EXIF information from the uploaded photos. It shows the model of my PVR as a DV 8800.

Click on the photo below to see the EXIF information.

You can see all the photos here: http://www.pbase.com/rgv523/pvr

Click on 'original' below the photo to see them in their full 5MP size!

I uploaded a few more photos I took this morning. I lowered the exposure which is why they are a little dark otherwise the white gets too blown out which is common with cheaper CMOS cameras. Also you can see how noisy the images are.

If you want to see how this Aiptek PVR(8800) compares with another 5 Megapixel camera I own, click this link: http://www.pbase.com/rgv523/f300

My Minolta about the same size, maybe even a little bit smaller than the Aiptek. It has a fantastic Macro mode on it as well.

If I get time today I will try to create a sample video and upload it.

Oh I agree that the 'macro' mode on hybrids is not really a true macro, more of a proxmity focus really.

My Minolta is fantastic for macros because it also throttles the flash correctly which helps a great deal.
