Default A Good Flatbed Film Scanner?

Is there one? I have an Epson 1200 Photo that does a decent job scanning 35mm slides but stinks with 120 roll film transparences. I am no where near able to spend $2000 on a drum scanner. Reccomendations please.

I have recently bought a Canoscan 9900F flatbed scanner. Although I haven't tried slides with it, it does a great job with 35m negatives. I t also has a carrying frame for slides and one for 120 roll film. I assume that it does as good a job with them.

I recently got the epson 3170, does 35mm up to 3inch*9inch negs or slides. The Epson 3200 can do up to 4inch*9 inch.
Both models can do up to 3200 dpi optical and have a 3.4 dmax.

It comes with 3 holders, 1 can take 4 mounted slides, 1 can thke 2 strips of 6 uncut images and 1 is for medium format.

3170 is USB 2.0 and phtoshop elements
3200 is USB 2.0/firewire, photoshop elements & silverfast
3200pro same as 3200 but has more software including monaco ezcolor profiler.
