Last year I read in Popular Photography about a recommended scanning service for slides and prints. What stuck in my mind was that the pricing was based on something like "all you can fit in a shoebox $XXX..."

My brother is antsy about getting our family prints and slides scanned and I'm afraid he'll go with a less-than-great service and resolution. Looking for 600 dpi and better.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
