IS is not an alternative to tripod. Mostly at longer end of zoom you get blurr due to hand-movement, IS can significantly reduce it. But still you can not take handheld more than 1 sec shots even with best IS on the camera if your hands are notrock-steady.

Dawg.............I use my tripod all the time bro. Nothing beats it. But I had to take this shot just for the point of it. This shot is the best one can do to show how well the IS works. I am standing on the top rung ofa4 foot alloy stepladder looking over the back wall of my house. Took it with no zoom and then full optical zoom wind blowing. Ok so I really had to work at getting steady, but I think the point of does the KODAK IS work or not has been made.
PS: I hope Rand returns to make a comment |

Hey Rj, are these with your new P850 after replacement? How do you find the color balance in auto mode now?

Atindra..........the new cam yes......they are spot on now. I went out with a laptop in my car and did a few tests. The 7590has a bit more color, but the 850 is spot on to reality.

Hi Rj,
Glad to hear about your new P850. Thanks for sharing details here and on other forums about your experiences. The moon shot on other thread is wonderful, I think its one of the best I've seen with Kodak cams. If you find some time, please drop in at dpreview and put your opnion about P850 at camera section of the site. Atindra |
