Default Anybody Else Hate The Neck Strap That Comes W/The 6490?

I did, so I bought the one on the kodak site under accessories for the DX 6490 (Item 8646002) . I like it a lot better, except I couldn't get the triangle shaped loop things through the two little brackets or neck strap mount things on the camera. Anybody else buy this strap and have the same problem? I just took the round ones off of the neck strap that came with the camera and this seems to be working. The round ones just don't feel or look as durableas the ones that came with the strap. I will try and get some pics of the two side by side tomorrow.

Here is a suggestion that I have adapted from a trick I learned with my SLR. Make the neck strap as short as you can get it--unless you have a huge body it will let it hang comfortably just under your arm when it's up and over your neck--but that's not the point.

When you take a picture--with the neck strap on--brace your arms and push out on the sides of the camera (gripping it as you normally would but this time with tension in your arms--ELBOWS POINTINGDOWN & SLIGHTLY OUT). In this position the neck strap is pulling back and your arms are pushing forward. You will find that you are almost creating a tripod effect and you will get much steadier picturesthan you wouldjust holding the camera out in the normal way. It will take away the gentle bob and sway of the traditional hand held camera stance.

Have fun, I am.
