PSP9 is my favourite, but I do use Photoshop CS2 as well.

I normally end up editing up to a point on Photoshop and then finish it with PSP (as it's much easier to use).

Try Elements for 30 days here, but be warned the album part is greedy.

I actually use ACDSee7. You can do a lot of the same things that PSE3 does but without the album. The version of ACDSee that I have has an editor that you can call from the main progam or use alone.
All of the pictures that I have posted I have run through ACDSee.

I almost totally use PSP-9 now. I've been thru many (don't even remember the names of most. lol) I swore by Microsoft Picture It Pubisher for a long time.... Then along came PSP. Does everything I want to do and much better then any of the others I tried. I does a lot more than I'll ever use. lol And the price was within my budget.

Dan, I use PSP9. I'm not real good with it yet, but I'm a Draftsman and I spend all day on the computer drawing in autocad and when I get home the last thing I wanna do is learn more software,LOL. But my winter project this year is to learn how to really edit my pics. PSP9 is pretty full featured.

Hope this helps

Dan I now use PhotoShop Elements exclusivly Used to use Photoshop 5 the full version but found out that Elements has all most the same for a whole lot less.

I used Photoshop CS2 for some time, mostly for basic editing. Sometimes though I applied some effects to blurr unwanted background and it looked great. Now I tried the freeware Picasa 2 ( and was shocked- it does only the basic edits, but it is so easy and the result is stunning. Not worse than with Photoshop, but the red-eye reduction is easier and even better. I advice to try it- it's free, small, downloadable.

Bob I know what your'e sayin...I do a lot of reading all day and the last thing I want to do is read a manual(until I totally screwup something then I look at it:-))

Thanks everyone for your replies..think I'll sort thru a couple trial versions right now before I decide

Dan,,i use PSE3.0 the most,,,and only use PSP9 for CA removal,,i like the PSE because it opens the pics easier,,just double click anywhere in the screen and the "open files" opens....either are good though..
