maybe post a example of a picture in the general forum. or here. All cameras using jpeg compression will have some sort of artifact, it should not be noticeable unless you are zooming.

:? I am using a Kodak CX6330 and it have the same problem in 8x10" and even 5x7" printed pictures.

Kodak uses a high compression algorithm (approximately 10:1 fille size reduction) when creating JPEG files. The reason is that high compression in JPEG files increase the number in pictures into the SD/MMC card or internal memory. The problem is that high compression JPEG files include more artifacts into the picture.

Other Kodak cameras like DX6340 or DX6490 had the same issue. It should be much better if Kodak include at least 2 options for JPEG file compression (like other camera makers). This modification in the firmware is not really big, but probably Kodak should consider it a big change in their philosophy of simple to use cameras (I do not agree with them in this case)

Your pictures look very nice, but at this size (1200x900) you can not see the artifacts related by us.

In several reports from professional reviews sites, they made reference to the issue of the artifacts and high JPEG compression in Kodak digicams:

CNET (review of the Kodak DX6340):

Megapixel.net (review of the Kodak DX6490):

I made a web page with a comparison of sections taken from sample images from Steve's Digicams review of Kodak DX6440 and Canon A80. You can see the difference in the image quality on these cameras. The link is:

I will later include in the page the same image taken with the Kodak CX6330 and the Canon A70 (from the Steve's Digicams reviews), and some samples from my camera.
