I have forgotten to shut off my camera way too many times..and the batteries seem to be still ok.I can't see it hurting them..they are just batteries..you may drain them but I don't think damage would be an issue?:-)

It won't hurt the batteries to leave the camera on. I do it all the time.

I shoot until the battery quits and the camera shuts off then change to a fresh one. I have done that over and over. The low battery warning means I have a few more shots so I take them. Hasn't hurt them yet.

I too shoot until the batteries are dead, I usually get around 10 more pics.when the battery symbol pops up.

You are better off recharging the batteries before they are totally flattened. Li-ion bats last a lot longer with more frequent charges, than they do with full charge/discharge cycles.
They have no "memory" effect, so are not affected by not being exhausted first, in fact, totally emptying a li-ion battery can kill it (which is why the camera should give you a low battery warning and then turn off way before the battery is totally flat) |

Nice info Ken. Ya learn something every day! Also good to see you perusing the older posts to glean new info on your camera befrore it arrives. I did the same for a couple of months before I got mine!! Lookin' forward to your pic posts in the future, and welcome to the forum if I've failed to do that so far!!

Will it hurt the camera or battery to leave it plugged into the dock all the time ?
